Look For You – Poetry

Writing 101 Day 4: A Story in a Single Image.

Yesterday, you used one word as a springboard for a post. Images — including photographs and works of art — can also be starting points for stories, essays, poems, and personal musings. Use one of the images above as the creative spark for today’s post — use it as the setting for a poem, write about how it makes you feel, or describe a memory it conjures.

For today’s assignment, there were four images and I chose this one. I’m writing a poetry inspired by this image. I might use the other three images for my future posts but for now, I choose this. The picture might be a bit blurry as I had to use a snapshot and then crop it due to some technical difficulties. Still, here it is along with the poem I tried my hands on.

i wish for you

wherever i go.

one look, one smile

is enough

to let me know.

i wait to see

the miracle you are.

to know why

you hold this power.

i cannot seek

what i know not.

yet you play with me

and my thoughts.

i look for you

on the dark nights.

when the moon is full

and the stars are bright.
